Venue of the conference

Registration fees

We have kept the registration fees to a sliding scale of USD 15-25 (1500-2500 Nepalese rupees). For overseas participants, the fees can be paid at the venue.

Language of the conference

English will be the main language of the conference.

 Meals

There will be breakfast, lunch, snacks and tea provided to you during the program. All meals will be vegetarian.

From airport to the venue

You can get taxis to the conference venue or the hotel you’ll be staying. If you need any assistance for airport pick-ups, please let us know in advance.

Accommodation in Kathmandu

Kathmandu has a range of hotels from budget to high-end. There are hotels around the conference venue as well. If you need assistance in finding hotels for you, please let us know.

Getting across Kathmandu

For public transportation in Kathmandu, there are buses, microbuses, tempo (three-wheeler) which have a reasonable rate (15-25 NPR depending on your length of route). Apart from these, there are taxis/cabs which are available and are reasonably priced.

Temperature

Kathmandu will have Autumn season from September-November. The maximum temperature during the day is an average of 21-22 degree Celsius, and in the mornings and evenings to 9-10 degrees. So if you can bring any light warm clothes, that will work perfectly.

During the conference dates in November, the average temperature will be around 24°C during the day and 9-10°C during the mornings and evenings. Please also keep an eye or weather forecasts. For your reference, the website of the Nepal’s Department of Meteorology is: http://mfd.gov.np/.

Time zone

Nepal time is GMT+5:45. There are no Daylight Saving Time clock changes in Nepal.

 Currency

The official currency used in Nepal is Nepalese Rupees (NPR). Exchange rates of other currencies into NPR is:

  • 1 USD ($) ≅ 115 NPR
  • 1 EUR (€) ≅ 135 NPR
  • 1 GBP (£) ≅ 150

These values might change due to currency fluctuations.
